YEREVAN, OCTOBER 7, ARMENPRESS. Artificial Intelligence is in the “embryonicstage” of development in Armenia, KrispCo-FounderArtavazdMinasyan told ARMENPRESS during the 2022 Global Innovation Forum (GIF) in Yerevan.
“If we compare AI with startups we can say that it is in the embryonicstage of development [in Armenia]. There are certain scientific groups, companies that already have technologies and clients, but it doesn’t reach major volumes, this requires constant investments,” Minasyan said.
AI is becoming one of the main branches of global economy, enabling the automation of many processes, to save time and money for all sectors, he said. Armenia has no option to be sidelined from that road.
“Currently AI can’t have negative impact on Armenia. I see challenges, investments must be done, new scientists and engineers must be involved. This is what lacks the most right now,” Minasyan said.
He emphasized that AI is the assistant for humans, and not their substitution.
“There are some directions in IT that will be automated, creating new jobs. But for example in industry, bookkeeping and legal sectors there are some jobs which are subject to full automation and will be automated,” Minasyan concluded.
