58 people released under amnesty again commit crimes

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 28, ARMENPRESS. 58 out of those released under amnesty last year in Armenia have again committed a crime, ARMENPRESS reports Chief of Police of Armenia Valeri Osipyan said this at a briefing with journalists.

"About 58 out of those released under amnesty have committed a crime. 104 cases of crime have been recorded. They were different types of crimes, " Osipyan said.

Osipyan mentioned that there has been a certain increase in criminal cases in general, but it is not so much to worry about. They are mostly thefts.

In connection with the celebration of the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan and 100th anniversary of proclamation of the independence of the first Republic of Armenia, an amnesty was declared in criminal cases in the Republic of Armenia in 2018a. 581 people were released under amnesty.
