State Control Service Director weighs in on two arrested agents

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 28, ARMENPRESS. Regardless of being a state official, everyone must be equal before the law, State Control Service Director Davit Sanasaryan said in response to two of his agents being arrested by the National Security Service.

“Samvel Adyan and Gevorg Khachatryan are one of the exemplary and best agents of the State Control Service. Their guilt must still be proven. I have called on our National Security Service colleagues to maintain confidentiality during the investigation phase”, he told reporters today when asked to comment on the matter.

“Such information should not appear in the hands of people infamous for bullshit”, he said, without further elaboration. He was apparently referring to the fact that the information about the arrest was leaked before authorities had made an official statement.

He said his agency will continue fulfilling their duties.

He vowed to continue combating corruption.
