Attorneys file new motion to release former MP Manvel Grigoryan on bail

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 8, ARMENPRESS. The attorneys of former MP Manvel Grigoryan has filed a new motion to the 1st instance court to release him on bail.

Attorney Arsen Mkrtchyan told Armenpress that they will use all permissible measures to properly conduct the defense.

“As the Criminal Procedure Code has no restrictions on this matter, we will constantly use that right. At the same time, we have submitted an appeal to the Court of Cassation after the ruling of the Appeal Court”, he said.

Manvel Grigoryan has been charged for illegal possession of firearms and grand theft.

He was remanded into custody on June 16, 2018.

Grigoryan was stripped off immunity by the Parliament in June 19.

He was released on a 25 million AMD bail on December 21, 2018.

But the former lawmaker has been again placed under arrest on January 22, 2019.
