YEREVAN BESTSELLER 5/2: Readers prefer Armenian author Edgar Harutyunyan as Unfound Chamomiles named chartbuster of the week

Armenian writer Edgar Harutyunyan’s Unfound Chamomilesis the bestseller of this week. This is the second book of the author. Unfound Chamomiles is about human relationship, love, friendship and betrayal.

Armenian writer Mark Aren’s Where Wild Roses Bloom comes next in the ranking.

The story is about an Armenophobic Turkish former serviceman who finds out that his parents were Armenians. He spends his remaining life searching the graves of his parents, without knowing that it was a misunderstanding.

Armenian writer Edgar Kostandyan’s Ordinary Countryis third, followed by Hold My Hand, I Am Scared – a novel by another Armenian author Armen Niazyan.

Three Comrades byErich Maria Remarque is 5th. It is written in first person by the main character Robert Lohkamp, whose somewhat disillusioned outlook on life is due to his horrifying experiences in the trenches of theFirst World War'sFrench-German front.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull by American writer Richard Bachis ranked 6th this week. It is afableinnovellaform about aseagullwho is trying to learn about life and flight, and ahomilyabout self-perfection. It was first published in 1970.

The Fault in Our Stars byJohn Green, published in January 2012, is 7th. The title is inspired by Act 1, Scene 2 ofShakespeare's playJulius Caesar, in which the noblemanCassiussays toBrutus: "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, / But in ourselves, that we are underlings."

One Hundred Years of Solitude, the landmark1967novelbyColombianauthorGabriel García Márquezthat tells the multi-generational story of the Buendía family, whose patriarch, José Arcadio Buendía, founds the town ofMacondo, a fictitious town in the country ofColombia, is ranked 8th in the bestseller list . One Hundred Years of Solitudehas been translated into 37 languages and has sold more than 30 million copies.

Armenian writer Davit Samvelyan’s Winter of Roden took the 9th notch.

Fahrenheit 451, adystopiannovel by American writerRay Bradbury, published in 1953, concludes the top 10 list. It is regarded as one of his best works .The novel presents a future American society where books are outlawed and "firemen" burn any that are found.
