President Sargsyan’s meeting with Emir of State of Qatar begins in Doha

DOHA, MAY 15, ARMENPRESS. The meeting of President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan with Emir of the State of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has kicked off in the capital Doha, Armenpress correspondent reports.

Before the launch of bilateral meeting, the official welcoming ceremony of the Armenian President was held in the Emir’s palace.

Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, Chief of President's Staff Armen Gevorgyan, Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan, Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, head of the General Department of Civil Aviation Sergey Avetisyan, Executive Director of the Center for Strategic Initiatives Alexander Khachaturyan and other officials are in the delegation led by President Sargsyan.

The President’s meetings with Executive Director of “Qatar Airways” Akbar Al Baker, Qatar business community and the representatives of the Armenian community are scheduled in the capital Doha.

Armenia and the State of Qatar established diplomatic relations on November 5, 1997. The last visit of an Armenian President to Qatar was in 2002.
