YEREVAN, MARCH 17, ARMENPRESS. The results of public procurement procedures carried out last year in Armenia are satisfactory with the preliminary summary results, Deputy Finance Minister Karen Tamazyan said in a meeting with reporters on March 17, reports “Armenpress”.
He said during 2016 188.5 billion AMD public procurements were carried out, from which 97 billion AMD were monopolized purchases (electricity, water, other utilities, hospitals, and etc.), and 91.5 billion AMD were competitive purchases.
“Only 6.6 billion AMD purchases were carried out from one person in the competitive purchases, but it decreased by more than 2.5 times compared to the previous year. In other words, we reached from 21.2 billion AMD to 6.6 billion AMD, in percentages 18.3% decreased to 7.2%. This is a major achievement. It shows that the competitiveness and participation of public procurements is promoted. Almost 95% has already being done through e-procurement system, all data are published since January 1”, Tamazyan said.
He said in terms of some procurements, the participation has increased by 2 times. They will continue installing the electronic system aimed at further increasing the participation in procurements, as well as the effectiveness of public expenditures and procurements.
