President Sargsyan visits Hayastan All-Armenian Fund

YEREVAN, MARCH 3, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hayastan All Armenian Fund Serzh Sargsyan on March 3 visited the Fund on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the organization, press service of the President’s Office told “Armenpress”.

President Sargsyan toured in the Fund, got acquainted with the conditions of the activities of the departments, the works carried out by them, talked with the employees. Then, the President had a meeting with the Fund’s leadership.

Serzh Sargsyan congratulated them on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Fund, talked about the Fund’s path full of challenges passed with the state and the people, as well as its mission which is to help Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh Republic) to overcome the problems, hardships, stand together with the Armenian people.

“During these years the Fund managed to solve problems through its activity, starting from restoration of destroyed villages up to eliminating the consequences of the earthquake, constructing the roads between our two Armenian states, the schools, kindergartens”, Serzh Sargsyan said, stating that the Fund remained committed to its mission during those years through the united efforts of all Armenians, as well as the assistance of individual philanthropists.

President Sargsyan attached a special importance to the work of the Board of Trustees which is a unique mechanism uniting the leadership of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, the leaders of Armenian churches, Armenian major charity institutions and local structure representatives.

“The fact that the Fund has always worked transparent is appreciated, and during each session specially created audit committee always appreciated the Fund’s activity.

Of course, the Fund’s driving force are our local structures, people who by using just their own time, capabilities were able and today are able to create the base which enables the Fund to carry out its activity. I think first of all the fact that the Fund acquired trust is due to them. Perhaps, there are few funds that have so many donors, 700 thousand donors, and this means trust of 700 thousand people.

I am deeply convinced that the Fund must continue its activity as one of the most important pan-Armenian structures. We as a state, no matter what path we have already passed, still have many challenges. There are challenges which can be faced only through the activity of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund.

I once again congratulate you and thank you for your work. Really it is encouraging that there are people in the Fund, both donors, local structure representatives, and members of the Board of Trustees, who from the very start have been and now as well are the Fund’s loyal friends”, President Sargsyan said.
