Armenia is fantastic and hospitable country – says PM Karen Karapetyan

YEREVAN, JANUARY 25, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan considers Armenia a very interesting, but an underestimated country for tourism, reports “Armenpress”.

In an interview to the Russian “Mir-24” TV, PM Karapetyan said people know little about Armenia.

“First of all, we are the first nation who adopted the Christianity as a state religion. Our people have a history of nearly 6 thousand years, and we have facts proving this that are based on excavations. We are over 1000 years older than the thePyramid of Cheops. This fact must be remembered. Yerevan is nearly 2800 years old. In other words, it is 50 years older than Rome. We have a fantastic country and we are very hospitable. I would like to highlight another feature as well that the Armenian people have. That is the feeling of gratitude”, the PM said.

He also talked about the agreement signed within the framework of his visit to Moscow on January 24, according to which the Russian citizens can visit Armenia with internal passports.

“Providing the Russian citizens a chance to tour with internal passports will boost tourism between Armenia and Russia”, Karen Karapetyan said.
