Culture Minister discusses Ministry’s new initiatives with President Sargsyan

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 29, ARMENPRESS. Culture Minister of Armenia Armen Amiryan on November 29 reported President Serzh Sargsyan on one of the priorities of the Ministry’s activity, the Ministry’s new initiatives aimed at contributing to the recognition and development of the Armenian culture in Armenia and abroad, as well as activating the cultural life in provinces as well, press service of the Presidential administration told “Armenpress”.

The Culture Minister discussed with President Sargsyan the opportunities for conducting such initiatives, as well as presenting at best Armenia in the international platforms through culture.

The Minister also conveyed the request of the cultural figures to meet with the President. Serzh Sargsyan kindly agreed to meet and talk with them, stating that he also needs such meeting, he also has a lot of questions to ask and asked to be prepared for a frank conversation.

Minister Amiryan proposed to create a pan-Armenian symphony orchestra which will include our talented compatriots performing in different parts of the world. According to him, it is proposed to hold the first concert on April 24, 2017 in Yerevan, and then the orchestra will hold concerts in a number of Armenian-populated cities of abroad within a year.

The President welcomed the idea stating that it almost completely corresponds to his views and convictions on Armenia-Diaspora cooperation and it is somehow a symbolic idea: first of all, it means harmony, ability to work together, and perhaps, the orchestra can serve as an example of harmonious and united work to other sectors.
