YEREVAN, OCTOBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Director of the International Secretariat of the ARF Bureau Giro Manoyan doesn’t see a possibility of the meeting between the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan until the end of the year.
He said currently the negotiating sides are discussing the maintenance and strengthening of the ceasefire regime, thus, it is meaningless to speak about progress.
“Even if the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan meet in December, they will hardly manage to reach an agreement on the meeting of the heads of states until the end of the year”, he said, “Armenpress” reported.
The initiator of the Presidents’ next meeting will be the third side, France, since they have repeatedly expressed readiness for organizing it.
Giro Manoyan says the possibility of resumption of large scale military operations in Nagorno Karabakh is not high. However, Baku will continue provocations in the line of contact. “The Armenian side has already announced that it will not tolerate the provocations and will give counter response. It can lead to increasing tension, but not to war”, he said.
The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs together with the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan will discuss the possibility of organizing the meeting of the Presidents of the two states in future. The discussion will be held in Hamburg in December at the OSCE FMs Council session.
