Charles Aznavour gives reception on 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 11, ARMENPRESS. The Ambassador of Armenia to Switzerland, Permanent Representative of Armenia to the Geneva office of the United Nations Charles Aznavour gave a reception on October 10 in the event hall of Beau Rivage hotel in Geneva on the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the press service of MFA Armenia, Presidentof theUN Human Rights Council Choi Kyonglim,representatives of Swiss Federal legislative and executive bodies, numerous diplomatic representatives accredited in the Geneva office of the United Nations and Bern, heads of international organizations, representatives of the Armenian community in Switzerland attended the event.

Ambassador Aznavour mentioned in his speech that the 25 years of independence of Armenia were years of hardships for the Armenian people, but at the same time hose were the years of achievements and victories. And though a quarter of a century is not a long period for a nation with a history of 3 thousand years, the 25 years of independence were crucial for the people of Armenia in their path to reinforcing the sovereign statehood and reintegration in the family of nations.

The Ambassador of Armenia expressed gratitude to all the friends of Armenia, who have accompanied Armenia along that path, specially pointing out the Swiss Confederation and Geneva-based international organizations.
