Sargsyan, Putin hold phone conversation

YEREVAN, APRIL 5, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan had a phone conversation with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in the evening of April 5. The conversation was initiated by Vladimir Putin.

As “Armenpress” was informed by the Department of Mass Media and Public Relations of the Presidential Administration, the Presidents discussed the latest developments of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone. The sides stressed the importance of the resumption of the negotiations under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, in order to find ways of peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

President Putin expressed deep concern over the large-scale military clashes, which claimed numerous lives. Putin urged the sides to maintain the ceasefire. It was noted that Russia has conducted and will continue conducting necessary mediations for the improvement of the situation. An agreement has been reached to continue contacts on different levels.
