YEREVAN, JANUARY 19, ARMENPRESS. The sharp decline in oil prices has created a rather complicated situation both in economic and political terms. MP of "Republican Party of Armenia" /RPA/ faction Gagik Minasyan expressed such an opinion during his meeting with journalists on January 19.

“In terms of economy, the extraordinary session of Milli Majlis starts, which according to the announced agenda, must discuss economic issues, namely, significant reduction of this year’s state budget, establishing of the sanctions against export of capital. This generally has a short-term positive impact on a given country, but it can only do damage in the long run, because it creates problems for foreign investors. This speaks of the fact that Azerbaijan leaves aside its prospects for economic development for solving short-term problems,” “Armenpress” reports, Minasyan emphasized.

The MP is of the opinion that the situation in Azerbaijan is complex not only due to economic factors but also the political ones.

“The big inflation that Azerbaijan faces creates unrest in different parts of the country. One of the analysts noted an interesting coincidence that the unrest is especially strong in the Azerbaijani bordering territories. I do not exclude that this social unrest will manifest itself in those territories where the national minorities of Azerbaijan live,” Minasyan said.
