President Serzh Sargsyan convenes National Security Council session

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS. President of the Republic of Armenia convened National Security Council session on November 12.

As “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Information and Mass media of Republic of Armenia President’s Staff, the results of “Shant-2015” military strategic command and staff exercises, held from September 3-6 of the current year, were discussed in detail.

After the reports of the Chief of Staff of the exercises and his deputies, the implemented activities were summed up, relevant assignments were given by the President of the Republic. Before that, at the beginning of the session President Serzh Sargsyan had given an introductory speech,

“The logic of military strategic command and staff exercises held from September 3-6 is very simple and it is the continuation of the work our state structures have been implementing within the last years in our country aimed at confronting the possible aggression by the adversary in an organized way. We conducted similar exercises in 2008 and 2013 in a smaller volume but this time the exercises were held at full scale and, no doubt, it was unprecedented. You are also aware that there is an instruction, according to which, the periodicity of different exercises are determined and we all have to maintain that periodicity. Any exercise pursues at least 3 goals: check, refine, and gain experience. Any exercise, undoubtedly, has also specific goals and at least by preliminary results “Shant-2015” military strategic command and staff exercises were conducted in an organized way and reached its goals”.
