YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 2, ARMENPRESS. Construction activities of Stepanavan airport will be completed in 2016. Republic of Armenia Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan said the aforementioned during the discussion of state budget 2016 in the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia in reply to NA Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov’s question.
“We also have an agreement with our Russian partners that we will need heavy helicopters at the airport. I mean Mi-24 and KA-72. We reached an agreement that the helicopters will keep watch at that airport,” “Armenpress” reports, Yeritsyan said.
He added that serious activities were being carried out both with Russian, Swiss and French partners to involve light helicopters. “We do our best to have a good airport in Stepanavan,” Minister Yeritsyan concluded.
Eduard Sharmazanov stated that Minister’s reply presupposed that it was possible to be a EAEU member simultaneously developing relations with EU partners.
