Serzh Sargsyan: Azerbaijani attempts to escalate situation are fraught with destabilization of region

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS. Armenia President Serzh Sargsyan announced in Dushanbe on September 15 that Azerbaijani attempts to escalate the situation on Armenia-Azerbaijan border are fraught with destabilization of the region.

The President of the Republic of Armenia noted during his speech at CSTO Collective Security Council session that the heads of CSTO member states discussed sharp questions during narrow format meeting and “the discussion was, by tradition, of candid nature”.

“I informed the heads of CSTO member states about the situation of theSouthern Caucasus region drawing attention to the significant threat of tension growth on Armenia-Azerbaijan border and along theline of contact betweenKarabakh-Azerbaijan. I will not again refer to that issue, I will only note that the attempts of the Azerbaijani side, in the absence of adequate response of international community, are fraught with destabilization of the situation of the entire region.”, RIA Novosti reports, Sargsyan noted.
