Armenian national team is on 84th place in FIFA ranking

YEREVAN, JUNE 4, ARMENPRESS. On the 4thof June FIFA announced the new ranking for national teams. Armenian national team is on the 84thplace. As reports “Armenpress”, Germany is on the first place, Belgium is the 2nd, Argentna is on the 3rd place.

World Cup champion Germany again topped the monthly FIFA rankingsreleased Thursday, with Belgium overtaking Argentina, rising to No. 2.

Belgium, which eliminated the United States from the 2014 World Cup in the round of 16, reached its highest-ever ranking, moving up one slot from last month.Argentina, Colombia and Brazil round out the top five, followed by the Netherlands, Portugal and Uruguay.

France returned to the top 10, coming in at No. 9, while Switzerland dropped out to the top 10, ranking 11th.

Costa Rica rose one place to No. 14 and leads all CONCACAF nations, while Mexico comes in at No. 23. The United States rose one spot to No. 27 ahead of friendlies against Netherlands and Germany that serve as big tests ahead of next month's Gold Cup.

Algeria leads the African nations at No. 21. and Iran is Asia's best at No. 41.

None of the top 20 teams played in a match last month and all movements in the rankings "are down to a devaluation of past results," according to FIFA.

The Confederation of African Football now has 11 teams in the top 50. UEFA leads all confederations with 29 teams in top 50, with South America and CONCACAFhaving three teams each in the upper half of the rankings.
