President Serzh Sargsyan meets with Donald Tusk and Angela Merkel

YEREVAN, 19 MARCH, ARMENPRESS. President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who is in the Kingdom of Belgium on a working visit, met today with President of the European Council Donald Tusk on the sidelines of the summit of the European People’s Party. The interlocutors discussed issues related to the Armenia-EU constructive dialogue and the perspective of the development of relations.

During the meeting, the sides touched upon the reforms taking place in Armenia which, according to them, are important for Armenia-EU relations.

Serzh Sargsyan and Donald Tusk also touched upon the issue on forming a new legal framework regulating Armenia-EU relations, which has been discussed with the EU since late 2014, as well as the preparations for the Eastern Partnership Summit to be held in Riga. The interlocutors also touched upon the issues and challenges facing the South Caucasus.

As the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the Structure to the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, within the framework of the EPP summit, President Serzh Sargsyan had a brief meeting with Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel. The interlocutors discussed issues related to the Armenian-German bilateral and multilateral cooperation and the development of Armenia-EU relations.
