Armenia’s President to officially approve concept of constitutional reforms today

YEREVAN, MARCH 14, ARMENPRESS. The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan has had a meeting with the members of the Public Council. The Chairmen of the Committees of the Public Council, including the Committee on National Minorities and council’s sub-committees, as well as members of the board attended the meeting held in expanded format.

The Mass Media and Public Relations Department of the President’s Office informed “Armenpress” that the Chairman of the Public Council Vazgen Manukyan introduced a report on the activity of the council during the last 6 years and reflected on the council’s program for the next two years.

President Sargsyan congratulated the Chairman and all the representatives of the Public Council for the successful activity. He also highlighted that there was no important issue during these years the Public Council didn’t hold discussions, introduced suggestions and, what is the most important, came forth with its own initiatives regarding them.

Among other things, the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan informed the members of the Public Council that today he will officially approve the concept of constitutional reforms; thus the activities of drafting the Constitution’s text will be launched, at the course of which all the possible issues will be examined and solved.
