Aronian to face Karjakin: Zurich Tournament

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 14, ARMENPRESS: Theleader of the Armenian Men’s Chess Team GM Levon Aronianwill face Sergei Karjakin in the first round ofthe Zurich Chess Challenge 2015 Super Tournament. Armenpress reports that having won in the Blitz Chess Tournament, Aronian chose the second number for him and will play more games with whites. In the first round the following pairs will play: Anand-Kramnik, Aronian-Karjakin and Caruana-Nakamura.

Formerly it was reported that the leader of the Armenian Men’s Chess Team GM Levon Aronian won in the Zurich Chess Challenge 2015 Super Tournament.In five matches Aronian beat Karjakin, Nakamura and Anand and shared point with Caruana and Kramnik. The Armenian GM got 4 points out of 5 possible and took the first horizontal. The second and third places went to Anand and Caruana with 3,5 points, Armenpress reports.

Earlier it was reported that Aronian’s rivals were Viswanathan Anand (India), Fabiano Caruana (Italy), Hikaru Nakamura (USA), Vladimir Kramnik and Sergei Karjakin (Russia).
