Armenian President urges to keep to “OSCE MG lexicon”

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 4, ARMENPRESS:The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan participated today in the meeting of the heads of states and governments of the member countries of the NATO and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission in the city of Newport of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, which was held in the framework of the NATO Summit.

The Department for Mass Media and Public Relations of the Armenian President’s Office informed Armenpress that Serzh Sargsyan delivered a speech. The President of Armenia welcomed the Prime Minister of Great Britain David Cameron, the Secretary General of NATOAnders Fogh Rasmussen, the participants of the meeting, as well as the Afghan partners.

The President of the Republic emphasized that in Armenia people know quite well the price of both, the security and peace. According to Serzh Sargsyan, our country has to fight for them nearly every day. “Tomorrow in this very hall a document will be adopted, which has connection with the security of my nation and the peace in our region. There are two options: or we keep to the lexicon of the OSCE Minsk Group, the only specialized international organization, which works on the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The lexicon, which is suggested here and protected by the co-chair countries. Here, on behalf of USA and France, the lobbying of another member country, which tries to save the face of our neighbor dictator in the eyes of his own people may again pass, which, I assure you, does not lead to any good thing. Or, the good sense and the quest for peace will win, or, again the xenophobia deepening, war rhetoric and all the further provocations, which take human lives, will remain silently encouraged by Azerbaijan, giving no importance to the life of his soldiers and getting wings from such documents”, - emphasized Serzh Sargsyan.
