Serzh Sargsyan meets Georgia’s President

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 27, ARMENPRESS. Today, the President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili paid an official visit to the Republic of Armenia by the invitation of the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.

The Department of Mass Media and Public Relations of the President’s Office of the Republic of Armenia informed “Armenpress” that the President of Georgia visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial, laid a wreath in the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide, paying tribute to the memory of innocent victims. Then the President planted a tree in the Memorial Park.

The official welcoming ceremony of the President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili was held in the Residence of the President of Armenia. After that, the Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Giorgi Margvelashvili held a confidential conversation. Then, the President continued negotiations in an expanded format with participation of the members of the delegations of the two countries.

Serzh Sargsyan welcomed the President of Georgia and his delegation to Armenia and expressed hope that the first official visit of President Giorgi Margvelashvili will give a new impetus to cooperation between the two countries, brotherhood and friendliness of the Armenian and Georgian people. On the occasion of the meeting, the President of the Republic of Armenia once again congratulated Giorgi Margvelashvili for the appointment in the position of the President of Georgia and wished him success. Serzh Sargsyan expressed confidence that they will hold efficient discussions upon all the questions included in the Armenian-Georgian agenda within the frames of the visit which allows us to constantly develop the level of bilateral relations.
