YEREVAN, JUNE 18, ARMENPRESS. A solemn event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Manuel Adamyan's literary activity was celebrated in the hall of St. Yeghishe Church in London. Very Rev. Fr. Vahan Hovhanessian, Primate of England's Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Ara Margarian, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the UK, artists from Armenia along with the representatives of the community attended the event. The Writers' Union of Armenia informed "Armenpress" that the Chairman of the Writers' Union of Armenia Levon Ananyan made opening remarks and laid a heavy emphasis on the role and position Manuel Adamyan occupies in the family of contemporary Armenian Literature.
Very Rev. Fr. Vahan Hovhanessian, Primate of England's Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, handed over St. Sahak – St. Mashtots medal to the author in the name of His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenian. The Head of the Cultural Department of "My Armenia" festival Laura Avetisyan handed over "Ambassador of the Mother Language" Medal of the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia to the poet. Manuel Adamyan was also awarded with "Movses Khorenatsi" medal of the President of the Republic of Armenia in 2010.
