Prime Minister of Armenia voices a number of important political decisions

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 2, ARMENPRESS: Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan opened the cabinet sitting today with a reference to a number of important issues. Armenpress correspondent reports that the head of the government said the agenda of the sitting is full of serious political decisions.

"We have started a big campaign with the mass media from February 1 the goal of which is to essentially improve the quality of services provided by the state. We will be successive in this issue. For bringing our work to a logical end it is necessary to inform our citizens about changes we are implementing," Tigran Sargsyan said. He underscored the importance of awareness of the citizens which, he said, will give an opportunity to protect their rights.

The prime minister instructed the heads of the state institutions to correct the issues reported through a hot line.

"The second important change relates to the social sphere. The most important factor in overcoming poverty is the availability of education. The families that cannot give education to children always face the poverty issue. Hence, our social programs will be directed toward making education available for the socially insecure clusters of the population," the PM stressed.

At the IT Council the issue on preservation of Armenia's development positions were discussed. "An issue has been voiced over reduction of profit tax in the scientific-research works," the PM said.

During the recent three years our country has registered progressive development based on state-private sector cooperation.

The prime minister concluded his speech with the reference to the issues of the drafted young people. "The young people serve in the army, return, and we always face the issue of regulating their life after returning from the army," Sargsyan said, convincing that hence the ministries of defense and education and science will carry out a joint program on professional orientation of the young people.

The agenda of the February 2 cabinet sitting includes 50 issues.
