Armenian Prime Minister meets Stefan Fule

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS:
Within the framework of the visit to Brussels Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan met with the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule.
Armenpress correspondent reports from Brussels that the core of the discussions was the reforms implemented in Armenia. Prime Minister noted that Armenia fully implements the assumed commitments.
"We are implementing serious and ambitious program of reforms. For instance, yesterday we presented to the public the new concept of development of industry implemented with the assistance of the World Bank. We have discussed it with political parties and non-governmental organizations in a format of consultations," the prime minister said.
"We expect your assistance in speeding-up the negotiations over the Deep and Comprehensive Agreement," the prime minister noted. "I think we are working quite effectively in respect of development of RA-EU relations and cooperation," Fule said.
Referring to the EU-Armenia relations Stefan Fule said he is happy to see new and ambitious reforms.
The interlocutors referred to the issues on reconstruction of Armenian-Georgian border check-points, the possible financial assistance to be provided to Armenia with that aim.
Issues relating to the negotiations on facilitation of visa-regime, EU's micro-financial assistance, implementation of reforms in Armenia were discussed.
Tigran Sargsyan and Stefan Fule touched upon the progress registered in bilateral political talks. Noting that there exists new platform of Armenia-EU dialogue, with which Armenia presented a new agenda of reforms consisting of 33 directions, the parties highlighted the importance of harmonizing it in a joint united package.
