"ArtExpo" first inter-community cultural exhibition dedicated to 15th anniversary of introduction of RA local self-governing system launched today in Gyumry. All provinces of the republic, except for Yerevan, participate in the expo. Head of the organizational committee of the exhibition Gagik Minasyan told Armenpress that Yerevan, having a powerful cultural potential, would hinder in fair competition, and for this very reason it does not participate in the expo, which will be held September 8-9 in Gyumri.
All the provinces of the republic together with their cultural structures were presented in pavilions in Gyumri central square already yesterday in the evening. The exhibition will be conducted in 9 nominations: the best cultural urban and rural community, the best museum, art school, cultural house, school, gallery, the best painter, the best example of preservation of historical-cultural heritage. During the whole day the musicians arrived from different provinces of the republic performed in the square.
Armenian Deputy Minister Armen Gevorgyan and Culture Minister Hasmik Poghosyan visited Gyumri to welcome the participants and get acquainted with the presented cultural potential.
"This is the first suchlike event, and the format of this event is the most interesting. Everything is available and everybody can participate. All cultural possibilities are centered in one place, and our cultural life in provinces can be assessed," Mr. Gevorgyan said.
Referring to the local self-governing system, the Deputy Minister noted that the system has been consolidated already but it is far from being perfect.
