Manukyan, Khachatryan reflect on silver, bronze medals at European Artistic Gymnastics Championships

Armenian gymnasts Hamlet Manukyan and Mamikon Khachatryan have reflected on their performances at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships, where they won silver and bronze medals, respectively.
“Winning medals at international competitions increases my responsibility to achieve better results. I had a minor injury before the European Championships, but I was able to perform my routine well. What encouraged me most was that before the competition, national team head coach Hakob Serobyan said he believed in my success. That really helped me,” European Championships bronze medalist Mamikon Khachatryan said at a press briefing.
European silver medalist Hamlet Manukyan said that every medal is particularly important to him.
“I am truly happy about this silver medal at the European Championships. I am also proud that in the final, thanks to our coaches, we were able to perform the routine well. Now we need to work harder so that we can achieve better results next year,” he said.
At the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, Hamlet Manukyan scored 15.000 points in the pommel horse final to win silver at the European Championships. National team member Mamikon Khachatryan scored 14.900 points to take third place.
Last year, Manukyan became European champion, while Khachatryan won the silver medal.
The 2027 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships will be held in Yerevan.
