The government has approved the allocation of funding for new subvention programs, under which 16 projects will be co-financed in 13 communities across Armenia, with a total budget of 1.634 billion drams ($4.44 million USD).
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, speaking at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, placed particular emphasis on housing renovation projects within the package, especially highlighting the importance of improving energy efficiency in residential buildings.
He stressed that energy efficiency should receive greater attention in government programs, including through the adoption of international best practices in the field.
Pashinyan also noted that the scale of subvention-funded projects implemented in communities has been steadily increasing, adding that the subvention system is one of the government’s most successful initiatives and has significantly transformed communities across the country.
The funding agenda was presented by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan.
The minister said the proposal covers 16 subvention projects in 13 communities: one in Aragatsotn Province, three in Ararat Province, four in Armavir Province, two in Gegharkunik Province, three in Kotayk Province, and three in Tavush Province.
Khudatyan also noted that more than ten communities currently have road paving applications alone exceeding 3.4 billion drams, submitted for consideration for 2026.
