Pashinyan lauds Armenia’s expanding commercial ties with Azerbaijan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Thursday lauded the growing commercial ties between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"It seems that the economic agenda is surpassing the political agenda, which is good, because political agendas exist to serve the economic agenda. The events of August 8 have opened a sufficient field for economic cooperation, and I am glad that trade is being established between Armenia and Azerbaijan. I hope that, as soon as possible, we will not only import goods from Azerbaijan, but also export goods from Armenia to Azerbaijan," Prime Minister Pashinyan said at a press briefing after the Cabinet meeting.

Asked about possible timeframes for the formalization of the August 8 initialed peace treaty with Azerbaijan, the PM said he cannot provide specific timelines but added that daily work is being carried out.

Armenia has expressed readiness to sign the initialed peace treaty as soon as possible.
