Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili said that Tbilisi views U.S. Vice President JD Vance’s visit to Armenia and Azerbaijan positively.

The Georgian Public Broadcaster’s Channel 1 reported that the foreign minister said the visit demonstrates that U.S. President Donald Trump attaches importance to establishing peace in the South Caucasus.

The foreign minister added that Georgia is making its contribution to the process.

Responding to claims that Georgia could be sidelined from regional processes if connectivity between Armenia and Azerbaijan is unblocked, she said that “it is impossible to underestimate Georgia’s role.”

“No one rules out the existence of alternative routes, and there is nothing wrong with that,” she said.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance visited Armenia and Azerbaijan on February 9–11.
