Former Supreme Court head András Baka elected Hungary’s new president

Hungary’s parliament elected former Supreme Court head András Baka as the country’s next president on August 11, Reuters reports.

Baka was elected to the largely ceremonial post with the votes of the governing centre-right Tisza party. Members of the opposition Fidesz party did not take part in the vote.
