Typhoon Chan-hom hits Japan’s Ibaraki Prefecture

Typhoon Chan-hom is battering Japan’s Ibaraki Prefecture.
According to Interfax, the Japan Meteorological Agency said the typhoon reached Ibaraki Prefecture at 8:00 p.m. local time.
The agency said the cyclone is moving along an unusual path from east to south-west, whereas typhoons usually approach Japan from the south. It warned of landslides and flooding in low-lying areas, as well as strong wind gusts.
