Georgia hit by second major power outage in two days

Georgia has experienced its second large-scale power outage in two days, with almost the entire country left without electricity during the night of July 24–25.

According to Georgian media reports, citing social media users, several cities across the country, including the capital Tbilisi, were left without power from around 8:00 p.m.

Power outages were also reported in other regions. The disruption forced the Tbilisi Metro to suspend operations, while train services in western Georgia were halted. Georgian authorities began gradually restoring electricity supplies shortly after the outage. 

A similar incident occurred on July 24 at around 12:10 a.m., when a disruption in Georgia’s power grid caused failures in both electricity and telecommunications networks. As a result, electricity was temporarily cut off in Tbilisi and most regions of the country.
