Armenian minister highlights untapped potential in Armenia–Bulgaria partnership

Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan held a meeting with a delegation led by Bulgarian Member of Parliament Manoil Manev, who is the vice-president of the Bulgaria-Armenia Friendship Group at the Bulgarian legislature.
Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Armenia Nikola Nikolov also attended the meeting.
According to a readout, Andreasyan welcomed the delegation and emphasized the importance of close cooperation between the parliaments of Armenia and Bulgaria. According to the minister, this cooperation significantly contributes to the development of friendly relations and partnership between the two countries.
Highlighting the readiness to expand joint initiatives and implement new programs, the minister noted that Armenia–Bulgaria cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture, and sports has great and still unrealized potential.
Mr. Manev expressed his gratitude for the reception and emphasized the deepening of cooperation in higher education, culture, and sports, including student exchanges, joint cultural programs, and the development of sports infrastructure.
Referring to cooperation in the field of education, the Armenian minister emphasized the importance of continuing the existing scholarship program, suggesting discussions on developing inter-university cooperation, student and faculty exchanges, and new joint educational and research programs. In this context, the activation of cooperation within the EU Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe programs was highlighted. Zhanna Andreasyan also expressed her readiness to share Armenia’s leading experience in the field of non-formal education, presenting the activities of the Tumo Center as an example.
The possibility of holding “Days of Armenian Culture” in Bulgaria and “Days of Bulgarian Culture” in Armenia was also discussed. The talks also addressed the development of cooperation in music education, strengthening ties between cultural institutions in both countries, and implementing joint programs.
