For four days, from August 28 to 31, jazz will fill Gyumri’s historic and cultural setting, creating a unique dialogue between music, the city and its cultural heritage.
The 7th “HAY-AT JAZZ: Armenians in Jazz, Jazz in the Yard” festival will be held in Gyumri with the financial support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and on the initiative of “I Link” Open Platform for Ideas educational and cultural NGO.
The initiative, titled “4 days, 4 concerts in the courtyards of Gyumri museums,” was first held in 2017. The festival’s distinctive feature is that jazz concerts are held in the courtyards of Gyumri’s museums and cultural institutions, turning the city into an open-air concert venue.
The initiative brings together different areas of culture, presenting jazz music in a museum setting. This format makes it possible to combine efforts to preserve and promote cultural heritage with contemporary musical culture.
The festival also contributes to expanding access to and promoting jazz music among music lovers.
Admission to all concerts is free.
