Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan visited the Hrazdan Gorge on Wednesday to review a planned development project for a 3,480-square-meter multi-purpose leisure zone in the Arabkir administrative district.
The government-funded project will include children’s playgrounds, sports areas, an open-air cinema, and green spaces, the government said in a press release.
The master plan is ready, according to Arabkir district administrator Suren Varosyan.
According to the government, the improved infrastructure will also contribute to the restoration of the area’s ecological condition.
The purpose of the project is to ensure modern and sustainable development by building on the multi-layered legacy of the Hrazdan Gorge.
Pashinyan and Avinyan also visited the nearby landmark open-air gym to review ongoing renovation work. Those present at the sports area thanked the authorities for the improved conditions, noting that the number of visitors has increased.
