Yerevan Metro completes fire safety upgrades in tunnels

The installation of firefighting water lines in Yerevan Metro tunnels was completed in October 2026, following work that began in 2024.

According to a statement released by the metro administration, a total of 16 kilometers of corrosion-resistant piping was installed.

The metro administration said it had been without such a piping network since 2013.

The new water lines are intended not only for firefighting but also for washing and cleaning the tunnels, providing additional capabilities for infrastructure maintenance and operation.
