Yerevan Fashion Week: Armenian education and culture minister meets Polimoda's Massimiliano Giornetti

The Fashion Scout Armenia 2026 young designers’ awards ceremony has been held with the support of Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports as part of Yerevan Fashion Week 2026.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Minister Zhanna Andreasyan met with a delegation led by Massimiliano Giornetti, Director of Polimoda, a fashion school in Italy.

Minister Andreasyan congratulated those present on the official opening of the program, which took place on October 8 at the Erebuni Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve with the opening of a special exhibition titled “The Ancient Gods: From Erebuni to Contemporary Yerevan.”

“We attach great importance to this cooperation, particularly in terms of developing the creative industries,” the minister said, also highlighting the opportunity to implement an educational component.

Speaking about the Fashion Scout Armenia competition held with the ministry’s support, Andreasyan noted that it creates new opportunities for young Armenian designers on international platforms, encouraging creativity and innovation. A total of 75 applications were submitted to the competition, eight entries were showcased, and three winners were selected.

Massimiliano Giornetti thanked the minister for the meeting, emphasizing that fashion is not just about design; it is also culture, heritage and identity.

The meeting participants discussed the format for implementing an educational program in cooperation between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and Polimoda, as well as the possibility of introducing it at several Armenian universities. Particular emphasis was placed on incorporating cultural heritage into the educational program. In this context, they discussed prospects for jewelry production involving young Armenian creatives, strengthening ties with the labor market, and promoting entrepreneurship. The parties identified the need for a roadmap and discussed a possible format for cooperation, particularly in the form of a memorandum.

Yerevan Fashion Week 2026 is being held under the theme "Pink City Yerevan."
