NovAir announced on Thursday a temporary suspension of the Yerevan-Kapan flights due to maintenance work on its aircraft.
The airline has only 1 plane in its fleet, a L-410.
NovAir CEO Karen Vardanyan told a local television channel in Syunik province that his airline is now working to find a replacement aircraft until the maintenance work is completed.
“The aircraft is undergoing technical maintenance. The safety of our passengers and flights is top priority for us,” he told Syunik TV.
“Suspending the flights was a painful decision because the Yerevan-Kapan-Yerevan flights are highly demanded. We are now working to find a replacement aircraft,” he added.
He said that the plane transported 2,096 passengers on 95 flights from January until September this year. The airline operated 19 more flights than during last year’s same period, he said.
Syunik TV reported that the maintenance could take up to four months.
