If Armenia and Azerbaijan trusted each other, there would be no need to sign a document – PM Pashinyan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in his speech at the annual workshop of heads of diplomatic missions, spoke about Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, stressing the importance of building mutual trust and the role of diplomacy in that process.
Pashinyan noted that in Armenia’s public discourse the periodically raised question is: “How can we trust Azerbaijan?” He emphasized that this reflects the core issue in bilateral relations.
“The problem is to build trust step by step, drop by drop. I would even say that if Armenia and Azerbaijan trusted each other, there would simply be no need to sign any documents. Diplomacy is about creating a small fulcrum or even a theoretical possibility of trust in an environment of distrust,” the Prime Minister said.
