Armenian, German officials discuss COP17 preparation

On June 9, in Nice, France, on the sidelines of the Third UN Ocean Conference (UNOC), Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with Rita Schwarzelühr-Sutter, the Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety. The meeting was also attended by Hambardzum Matevosyan, the Chief Adviser to the Armenian Prime Minister and Chair of the Committee for the Organization and Implementation of COP17.

During the meeting, the preparation process of the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), to be hosted by Armenia in 2026, was touched upon, the foreign ministry said in a readout.

The Armenian side reiterated its commitment to the effective and inclusive organization of COP17, ensuring the full and meaningful participation of all stakeholders.
