Cyprus committed to promoting international recognition of the Armenian Genocide

The Presidential Office of Cyprus has addressed the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, noting that the Republic expresses its respect and solidarity with the Armenian people and remains committed to promoting the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

"We pay tribute to the memory of 1.5 million Armenians who were systematically exterminated during one of the most tragic chapters of modern history.

The Republic of Cyprus expresses its respect and solidarity with the Armenian people, recalling that the preservation of historical memory and the recognition of the truth are the moral duties of every society that respects human rights and the fundamental values of justice," the Presidential Office of Cyprus stated on X.

"As a country that has experienced injustice and violations of international law, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to promoting the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide. The memory remains alive," the post reads.

Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos also made a post on X on the occasion of the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

“On Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, we remember the victims and acknowledge the enduring pain of a crime against humanity.

In defending truth and justice, we uphold the promise: Never Again.’’

The Cyprus Foreign Ministry's post on X on the occasion of the anniversary of the Genocide reads:
