The Ambassador of France to Armenia, Olivier Decottignies, visited the Vayots Dzor region to familiarize himself with the situation in border settlements and assess the implementation of French humanitarian assistance on the ground, according to a post on X by the Ambassador.
He noted that he visited a strategically important part of Armenia. The visit focused on several key areas: the situation in the border settlements, France’s support for vulnerable populations, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
Ambassador Decottignies visited the village of Khachik in Vayots Dzor, located near the border with Nakhichevan, Azerbaijan. He stated that, with France’s support, the International Committee of the Red Cross is providing wheat seeds to farmers in the village to help them continue agricultural activities.
According to the Ambassador, 20 tons of seeds have been provided, designed for approximately 100 families.
