The EU monitoring mission in Armenia (EUMA) has conducted its 5000th patrol since the establishment of the mission in 2023.
“EUMA proudly marks a major milestone today - our 5000th patrol since establishment of the mission. Our commitment to supporting peace and security in the region remains unwavering. Grateful for the trust & confidence Armenia has placed in us,” EUMA said on X.
EUMA was launched in 2023 at the request of Armenia. The civilian mission observes and reports on the security situation along the Armenian side of the international border with Azerbaijan.
In January 2025 the EU extended the mandate of the EUMA for a further two years.
