Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has met with Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović in Yerevan.

The ministers were pleased to note the active dynamics in the political dialogue between Armenia and Montenegro, as well as the joint efforts for expansion of cooperation in individual sectors, the foreign ministry said in a readout.

They specifically underscored the joint work carried out for enhancing the legal-contractual framework, significantly increasing tourism volumes, and in the areas of IT and innovative education.

FM Mirzoyan and Ivanović discussed opportunities for developing cooperation in the economy and trade, attaching importance to outlining a roadmap for companies of both countries as a primary practical method.

Highlighting the meaningful symbolism of Podgorica being the first city with whom Yerevan signed a cooperation agreement, the ministers attached importance to the productive continuation of the partnership in this format.

The Armenian and Montenegrin FMs also discussed EU partnership. FM Mirzoyan presented the progress of recent years in the Armenia-EU relations. The exchange of best experience in reforms on the path of deepening ties with the EU was underscored.

Views were exchanged about regional developments. Mirzoyan underscored Armenia’s clear stance regarding the signing of the peace agreement with Azerbaijan, which, if reciprocated, will result in achieving a significant milestone.
