Russia hopes for Armenian participation in WWII Victory Day celebrations

Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin has expressed hope that the Armenian authorities will participate in the WWII Victory Day celebrations in Moscow on May 9.

He made the remarks in his speech during an event marking the 81st anniversary of the liberation of Leningrad.

“The current year is special because this event opens a series of events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Second World War. I hope the Armenian authorities will also participate in the events,” he said.
