Armenian Minister of Justice, US Ambassador express willingness to jointly implement new agendas

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. The Minister of Justice of Armenia Srbuhi Galyan met with the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Kristina Kvien.

According to the Ministry of Justice, Minister Galyan highlighted the importance of the United States’ consistent support for the ongoing reforms in Armenia’s justice system.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the ministry’s reform priorities, including constitutional reforms and various legislative initiatives.

Both sides expressed a commitment to continuing programmatic cooperation in three strategic areas: anti-corruption, judicial and legal reforms, and human rights protection through the US Embassy and relevant US agencies.

"Discussing partnership priorities for the upcoming year, both parties expressed a willingness to jointly develop and implement new agendas," according to the ministry.

The meeting concluded with discussions on enhancing the effectiveness of cooperation between Armenia and the United States in the area of mutual legal assistance.
