U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien to conclude tenure in mid-January, embassy confirms

U.S. Ambassador Kristina Kvien will conclude her tenure in mid-January after serving three years in Armenia, the U.S. Embassy said in a press release.

“U.S. policy on Armenia will not change when the Ambassador departs. The United States remains committed to its partnership with Armenia, and looks forward to advancing the U.S.-Armenia Strategic Partnership and implementing the bilateral agreements President Trump and Prime Minister Pashinyan signed at the historic August 8 Peace Summit in Washington,” the embassy added.

The announcement was made a day after the AP reported that U.S. chiefs of mission in at least 29 countries, including Armenia, were informed by the Trump administration last week that their tenures would end in January.
