YEREVAN, DECEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan is pleased with the results of the development of trade and economic relations with Russia.
During a briefing with journalists following the meeting of the Armenia-Russia Intergovernmental Commission in Moscow, Grigoryan noted that the increase in trade by almost two times is a very good result.
“Of course, there are many issues to work on in favor of the development of this cooperation, but the increase in trade by almost two times is a very good result,” Grigoryan said.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, a wide range of issues for the development of Armenian-Russian relations in general were discussed during the session.
"The discussed issues covered the economy and trade, energy, and transport infrastructure. According to the results of the year, we have recorded very good indicators and systematic growth in all directions," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
Grigoryan also touched upon the signing of an agreement on the operation of the Armenian-Russian University in Yerevan.
"The Armenian-Russian University is a key project between Russia and Armenia in the humanitarian sphere.
The 1997 agreement on its activities ceased to comply with the legislation of the two countries, so the need to sign a new document became necessary," Grigoryan noted.
During the session, the parties also discussed a number of other issues related to the humanitarian sphere.
